NoctiLumina® Binders

Three different NoctiLumina® binder types are available. NoctiLumina® binders are carefully-developed formulations based on polymers that have proven lifetimes in excess of 50 years. They demonstrate very little yellowing. Each binder type has a corresponding thinner type.

• Binder 1A - Enhanced adhesion, best for bezels and other exterior surfaces. However, it will dissolve most plastics and existing paints and coatings. Its fairly short working-time/pot-life makes it more difficult to use than Binder 3 or 3T.
• Binder 2 - Good for clear overcoats on Binder 1A bezel applications. Sets very hard. Its fairly short working-time/pot-life makes it more difficult to use than Binder 3 or 3T.
• Binder 3 - Recommended for general use. Compatible with most paints and lacquers. Long working-time/pot-life.
• Binder 3T - Similar to Binder 3 with the addition of a thixotropic agent that inhibits flow and spreading after application.
• Binder UV - Cures with ultra-violet light. Does not shrink on cure. Results in a more glossy look.

Practice before using these products on valuable items. It is possible that these binders may dissolve some plastics and existing paints and coatings. Binder 1A in particular must be used with caution on coated surfaces. The other binders are generally compatible. Note also that the product may spread and flow slightly to surrounding areas after application, particularly if a thin mix is applied.
